Ayana Hull is a member of our Funds and Regulatory practice group. She advises on the establishment, maintenance, operation and restructuring of BVI investment funds.
Prior to joining us in 2013, Ayana practised in the corporate, commercial, funds and regulatory areas in the British Virgin Islands. She also acted as in-house counsel to the BVI Financial Services Commission and its regulatory divisions. Ayana's current practice involves advising on the regulatory implications BVI financial services and securities legislation have on BVI investment funds, managers, advisers, custodians, administrators and broker dealers conducting investment activity in or from within the BVI. She also advises on the impact BVI regulatory legislation has on ICOs and FinTech initiatives in general including the general AML/CTF risks attendant to these structures. As a member of the firm’s FinTech Group, she regularly handles a variety of ICO enquiries and advises on ICOs wishing to be structured through BVI entities.
Ayana is the chairman of the BVI Financial Services Commission Securities, Investment Business and Mutual Funds Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the BVI Financial Services Commission FinTech Advisory Committee. Ayana is the author of Financial Services deMystified, a text book for BVI secondary schools. She is also a notary public in the British Virgin Islands.
